Poodle scam story a hoax
http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=263447
I forwarded this originally because it was a great story, but I was
rather suspicious because:
1. Every single news story came from the same source, The Sun newspaper.
There were no independent sources.
2. Nobody had the photo referred to in the article.
3. The police spokesperson wasn't named.
4. The Japanese name of the company wasn't provided.
5. Names of other people weren't given.
6. This was said to have taken place in Sapporo. I've been there, and
the island of Hokkaido is famous in Japan for their dairy and sheep farms.
It looks like The Sun embellished Maiko Kawakami's funny story and it
took off from there. A fascinating example of how memes spread!

I'm so glad, though I must say I had a number of great good giggles over it all
day yesterday! Fun and funny thank you Andrew!
