He seems to have had an alternative career, TV repair I recall and
plenty of other things.
Good sense of humour as well. Admitting he couldn't play the guitar,
dunking the etching in his pool, and mentioning they could no longer
take stuff away from the council tip.
Where my parents live in Bendigo the council tip runs a shop where
for a few dollars you can buy stuff.
My father has a beach comer attitude just uses the side of the
highway instead of the beach. He has an elected part of the highway,
didn't want his name on a sign though. Sometimes you see this part of
the highway sponsored by "The Rotary club of Bendigo" sort of thing
