"Research warns of the long timescale of climate change impacts unless urgent
action is taken to cut emissions drastically"
We are already committed to long-term changes, and we need to first stop
digging the hole so we can get a breathing space to start working out if
there's a way to get back to the previous stable conditions - which we will
need to get moving on in the next 30 years or live with the long-term
consequences (the eventual loss of most existing coastal cities).
