"The numbers on global warming are even scarier than we thought."

Via Philipp Birken, who wrote:

I follow lots of new research on climate change and essentially, of ten new
findings, 7 are that its worse than we thought and one is that it's better
than we thought. Well, it's worse than we thought. We already knew that we
have to keep 80% of known fossil fuel reserves in the ground for the 2-degree
goal, meaning to have a reasonable chance to prevent the end of our
civilization.

Of these fossil fuel reserves, a lot have been invested in already. Now,
investors can get information on these things from a company specialising in
this for about 50.000 Dollars. Some scientists invested 50.000 Dollars. Guess
what the active fossil fuel reserves add up to? 20% of the known fossil
fuels.

Thus, we cannot open new fracking wells, new oil wells, new coal mines. Only
emptying the ones we have started is all we're allowed to do.

Cheers,
