"Law enforcement agencies are urging users not to fall for the viral
prank. Turns out, 108 is India's equivalent to 9-1-1. If you say that
number to Siri, the voice-controlled personal assistant will think
you're trying to make an emergency call, and will put you through to
emergency services in your area."
Note that you can be fined or even prosecuted for tying up emergency
services and potentially endangering lives.
Also note that Siri will (sensibly) respond to the emergency services
number for several countries. Not everybody knows or can remember the
number for the country they're currently in under pressure in a real
emergency.
