This classic article was recently mentioned by Benno Rice in his talk at
LCA2019. Note that this is not just a problem among programmers - there
was an excellent panel discussion at a Furry convention a few years ago
pointing out that Furries mocking Bronies, or other fans mocking
Furries, or people mocking fans of the Twilight books, is exactly the
same thing.
