"The field celebrates a diverse universe of rising stars and celebrates
hope with a new subgenre."

Via Muse, who wrote "I am not a fan of stories that wallow in darkness.
I do not want darkness exoticised. I do not want people encouraged to
see darkness as the only access to power. I do not want darkness used to
“thrill” me. I want stories that help to inform us of where we could be
better and, even better, suggest some solutions. This is why I am
putting my weight behind the solarpunk and hopepunk genres."
