I remember drawing this in Spring 1998, in my college dorm room (I was still a junior). I also remember various boring technical details about it--among other things, the inking was done with a Japanese brush-pen, of the sort I favored at the time (I didn't move to a real brush, dipped in real waterproof ink, until the following December). And I remember fretting that the characters were getting too tall, which seems an unusual complaint in hindsight (they're taller than that in their modern incarnations).

Mostly I just still think this strip is funny.
