Bad boy Avery

Avery is, at times like these, every suburban kid who ever fancied himself an inner city rebel based entirely on his taste in mass-produced entertainment. Of course, Avery is a raccoon, thus rendering "race" irrelevant...in most situations that's an advantage of the strip's format, but at times like this it does deprive my comment of one possible dimension.

Ozy, for his part, once again displays his knack for delivering lines that are so deadpan, the other characters don't really even know they're being made fun of. (This contrasts sharply with Millie's habit of grinning ear to ear at her own jokes.)
