This demonstration of the user interface is not entirely consistent, because I am still thinking a few things through. I do believe enough is here to get the ball rolling.
"Story" in the navigation bar will always take you back to the current page you are reading.
Players click on "select", then on a word and it becomes highlighted. Now they can choose "look", "speak", or "action".
By clicking on "items" players get a list of things they have collected. They can then click "select", followed by "look" or "action". It would be possible to skip the "select" step here, but it might be confusing having two methods for getting at information.
