Publisher, Glass Wings Press Pty Ltd, Melbourne, Victoria Australia, September 1989-1994. Director of company publishing books and magazines concerning alternative and environmental lifestyles, sub-cultures, the arts and humour and doing contract work designing, editing and preparing projects for other companies. Amongst our projects:

1990

Chief Editor & Designer, Megacomp Publications, Elwood Victoria Australia. Glass Wings Press was contracted to edit and design Megazone 5, Australia's electronic entertainment magazine. Created author style manual. Edited and/or rewrote all articles. Composed all interior graphic design. Wrote lead article for Megazone 6.

1989

Marketing Consultant, Miscellania Unlimited, Seattle, Washington U.S.A. Gave this comic book publishing house general advertising, publicity, promotion and distribution advice. Helped to set up their newly formed marketing division. Wrote a marketing report tailored to the company's needs, complete with appendices and bibliography.

1987—1988

Marketing Assistant, University of Washington Press, Seattle, Washington U.S.A. Researched appropriate journals for book reviews. Kept current journal library. Provided sales people with publicity material and stock status reports. Typed distribution contracts, author contracts and correspondence. Filed, mailed catalogues and desk copies, constructed press kits and provided some customer service.

Editor, Seattle Review, Seattle, Washington U.S.A. Edited incoming manuscripts of short fiction. On editorial board for final decisions on each issue.

1985

Sales Clerk, Fifth Avenue Bookstore, Seattle, Washington U.S.A., June 1985-November 1985. Sold books. Researched orders for rare and out-of-print books. Ordered books through distributors and individual publishers. Developed stock, shelved, kept computer records.

1984—1985

Editor-in-Chief, Bricolage '85, Seattle, Washington U.S.A. Organised volunteers into four editorial departments. Created the advertising program. Developed publications budget and stayed within its bounds. Trained volunteers in the use of Wordstar and Justif computer programs in order to prepare typesetting. Scheduled and coordinated typesetting, editing, proofreading, dummy layout and paste-up. Dealt with writers, advisors and printers. Instituted circulation campaign.

1984

Editor, Bricolage '84, Seattle, Washington U.S.A., October 1983-June 1984. Edited long fiction manuscripts, essays and art work. Instituted the first use of art work in the magazine.

1977—1978

Library Assistant, Raymond Public School System, Raymond, Washington U.S.A. Created filing cards. Shelved books. Assisted students. Checked out books at the front desk.
