Worldbuilding
A rich and detailed world provideds more opportunities for varied play, and helps to logically
constrain character choices.
These are the aspects of the world that you will need to consider:
- History
- Governmental system
- Economic system
- Primary industries
- Technological stage
- Religions
- Class systems
- Social expectations
- World views
- Family organisation
- Traditions
- Languages
- Housing
- Transport
- Cuisine
- Costume
- Arts
- Climate
- Ecology
Mapping
Where will your character begin in this world?
Upon completing the major goal, where will your character physically end up?
What landmarks, rooms, and/or geographical areas need to exist for your character to get
from the beginning point to the ending point of your story?
To begin with sketch these out in a linear fashion, rather than radially. Also, remember
that travel time without other activities, and having to repeat activities, can get dead
boring.
