"Advances are opening solar to the 1.3 billion people who don’t have access to
grid electricity."

Via Magnus Itland and then Emmanuel Taban, who added:

"The developing world may have a chance to leap frog the developed countries in
terms of how energy is provided. In recent history this has happened with
telecom; mobile phones became the first telephone and only way to communicate
with others and has had the curious effect of lack of phone booths and all that
they imply in developing countries."
