"New research from Canada is the latest to show that simply giving money
to people living with homelessness helps them tremendously. The
year-long study in British Columbia found that people who were given a
$CA7,500 ($7,907) cash payment spent fewer nights at a shelter,
experienced fewer days without enough food, and secured stable housing
quicker than those who weren’t given anything more than a workshop. They
also saved money and spent less on things like alcohol, cigarettes, or
other drugs."

Via Muse, who wrote "Just show some generosity and compassion, give
people some autonomy and respect, and things begin to change for the
better…who knew?"

Cheers,
