"Critical race theory is an academic framework that is not part of the
Australian curriculum. Learning how, for example, First Nations Australians
experienced colonisation is expanding knowledge and understanding about our
history. It is not necessarily a direct influence of critical race theory.
Every time race is mentioned in an educational context, it does not mean CRT is
being applied.
It’s important the historical and ongoing legacies of colonialism and racial
disparities are discussed in the Australian curriculum. Seeking to restrict
this discussion by misrepresenting critical race theory is a move copied from
conservative United States playbooks."
Via Muse, who wrote "Unbelievable. Australia’s politicians are importing Trump
positions for our government."
