"The renowned Japanese conglomerate Kawasaki may be mostly known for its sporty
motorcycles like the prestigious Ninja series, but the motorcycle
manufacturer's robotics division has now surprised its fans with the unveiling
of a new product that most certainly is one of the weirdest electric vehicles
in existence.
At the 2022 International Robot Exhibition in Japan’s capital Tokyo, Kawasaki
has revealed a rideable robot in the shape of a goat. The machine is called
Bex, and it is apparently based on the wild goat species called ibex. During
the presentation which can be watched in the video embedded below, the
four-legged robot trotted safely but rather slowly across the stage while an
employee with a helmet sat on the bizarre electric vehicle.
Kawasaki's electric goat is equipped with a handlebar which is usually found on
motorcycles, and it can carry riders weighing up to 220 lb. The robot can also
kneel in order to allow a more comfortable mounting and dismounting, and its
horns are apparently accentuated by LED lights. Thanks to the reportedly
modular design, the machine can be customized with certain attachments in order
to increase the electric goat's cargo capacity. While most fans are probably
amused by the goat robot, Kawasaki is apparently still working on its three new
electric motorcycles which are scheduled to be revealed this year."
