"Getting Covid over and over again is
not a risk we should be taking as
societies. We do not know the magnitude of that risk. And every indication
right about now is that it is far, far larger than we imagine. That our
hospitals and healthcare systems are going to burdened to breaking point as
today’s healthy working age people age into old ages of chronic damage and
stress from consequences we’re only now beginning to understand, multiplied by
having gotten Covid several times over. That is going to be incredibly costly
for society, because imagine taking care of ward upon ward full of a generation
or three of elderly people who are just wrecked by Covid’s long-term
consequences."
