"I am always an optimist as a matter of principle. This is not because bad
things can never happen (Trump did get elected in 2016, after all), but because
in the end I believe we will win. We won the Civil War, we won WWI, we won
WWII, and we won the Cold War. Now the Putin regime is on its last legs, as is
the Iranian government. China’s economy is in trouble. The Tory party in the UK
is busy proving how bankrupt right-wing policies are. These are all hopeful
signs. The Republicans could still win the House in this election, but I
predict that if they do they will create such a shit-show that the House will
swing back in 2024 from the revulsion of the general public.
In the meantime, here is some good news if you want it."
