not having a good year. In July,
Writers Beware carried an article discussing
the serve backlog the magazine had with contracts for stories:

While the magazine is still digging itself out of that problem, it has sailed
into another.
Apparently, the magazine has accepted for publication a story by British
horror/sword & sorcery writer David A. Riley.

quote: “I appreciate you reaching out, but it’s unethical for me to remove a

Riley, from Lancashire, has had a long career in horror and if his name sounds
familiar to readers it is likely to be from the 2016 HWA Bram Stoker Awards
when he was selected to be a juror and then unselected again:

Riley had been active member of the extremist National Front in the UK in the
late 70s and early 80s. The National Front was later eclipsed by other far
right parties such as the BNP in the UK, but it remains notoriuos as a nexus of
racism and surrounded by a cloud of community violence."

guy was a parliamentary candidate for the NF. Your reaction to
F&SF’s
decision should be the same as if they platformed the leaders of Atomwaffen or
the Proud Boys.
