I'm surprised no one has ever pointed out that I have essentially drawn this strip multiple times: the one, usually (but not always) a color Sunday edition, where a shot of a character looking at scenery in the final panel puts everything else in perspective, accenting the smallness and pettiness of whatever is going on in the rest of the strip.

I do always try to draw the scenery as northwestern as possible. One of my pet peeves is people who think "the west coast" is a synonym for "California." I'm Washington state born and raised, and I happen to think this is a prettier area than most Los Angelinos have ever seen in their lives. So there.
