Caught!

I'd forgotten about this strip until I reread it just now.
That's the thing. When I started out, each strip seemed precious, like a work of art unto itself. Some of them went through three or four versions, because I wanted to make them perfect. Then after a while, you find you've just...done so many that any one strip, however good you may think it is, just doesn't stand out as much. You start to think of the strip as one long running work, and any one piece doesn't stand out nearly so much.
Okay, so, yes, this strip was aimed at the current administration. But I don't think you need to oppose Bush to find it funny. All you need is a healthy cynicism about politicians. There's a reason the movie line that's found its way into more political cartoons than any other (by my reckoning--I mean, I've never counted or anything) is "pay no attention to that man behind the curtain."
