Jean-Marie Blanchot

Jean-Marie Blanchot grew up in Brittany (where the crêpes come from) and trained as a pastry chef under his father.

He ran a restaurant and a patisserie in Melbourne, Australia in the 1970s before returning to France to renovate a chateau. The Chateau de Pont Sal near Vanne operated as a Crêperie and Wedding reception function room for about 6 years.

Jean-Marie returned to Australia where he ran a very successful patisserie in Hawthorn until 1999 when he opened the first Breton Crêperie in Australia in Fitzroy.

Jean-Marie's passions in life revolve around food, crepes and the sea. All of these elements come together at the Williamstown location and enable you to taste his experience in restaurants, pastry and crêpes in the unique sea front setting.



Catherine Ryan

Catherine Ryan grew up in the east of Melbourne. With a passion for more information she trained as a Teacher and Librarian working at the University of Melbourne, Baillieu Library, a secondary school library and then at The Age library.

Catherine first tasted Breton Crepes in Canada many years before she met Jean-Marie. It is her job to communicate the idea of this unique food product to you and encourage you to return with friends.
