I don't know if many of you would have seen this odd little feature from
Book Depository.

You can watch people buying books live on a world map. It's strangely
enthralling.

That is peculiar and interesting.

I'm wondering who thought of it and what they thought it would do for them. It
doesn't necessarily promote any individual books. It kind of promotes their
company. Does it get you excited to buy?

Nice toy regardless.

Peace,

Katherine

It is strange. I'm not sure what the exact purpose is, but I suspect one
thing they want is for you to feel part of a 'family' (look at everyone
buying books) and/or feel like the whole world is using book depository (so
maybe I should too).

In any instance, it is quite hypnotic.

For a while I was wondering why so many people in Alice Springs were buying
books before I realized that any purchase in Australia just comes up as
central Australia.
