Personally, I believe given the difficulty of preventing the collection and
potentially the dissemination of personal information, the important thing is
to have strong policies on the use of that information.  For example, the right
to have access to all information about yourself and people for whom you are
legally responsible (children etc.), the right to have erroneous information
deleted or corrected, and the right to legal action against people and
organisations who use personal information to your disadvantage.
