"When people are isolated from human contact, their mind can do some
truly bizarre things, says Michael Bond. Why does this happen?"

This article mentions the extensive use of solitary confinement in the
US prison system, which in my view often constitutes cruel and excessive
punishment and increases mental health issues among prisoners. This is
particularly unfortunate when those prisoners are finally released.
