"Margaret O’Brien, 69, moved from Canada to Wolverhampton in 1971, got
married, had three children and worked for the local council for more
than 25 years as a dinner lady, meals on wheels driver, lollipop lady
and cleaner."

A fish rots from the head down. Bureaucracies (both government and
corporate) often tend towards indifference or even hostility towards the
petitioners, even more so when the leadership and/or general attitude of
the nation are mean. It takes actively humane leadership to counter
this, and we always need to press for people who genuinely care in
leadership roles.
