"The problem is not isolated to youth theater, said Andrew Threlfall,
C.D.P.’s director. He and a growing number of artistic leaders in
Australia have come to believe that government funding for all the
performing arts is simply not enough, nor is it as well spent as it
could be."

Via Muse, who added: "Any government that heads toward authoritarianism
will want to stifle the arts. Art can be a form of political speech and
resistance."
