"Tove Jansson created the Moomin stories inspired by the beauty and
power of the sea. For her, the Baltic Sea was a home and a source of
safety, adventure and inspiration. Thus, the Moomin stories couldn't be
imagined without the sea. After her passing, the Baltic Sea has become
one of the most polluted seas in the world.
#OURSEA is a charity campaign launched by Moomin Characters to
celebrate the 75-year anniversary of Tove Jansson publishing her first
Moomin story. The aim of the campaign is to increase awareness of the
condition of the Baltic Sea and raise one million euros for John
Nurminen Foundation’s work to protect the Baltic Sea and its heritage."
