"At a recent MAGA rally cross-Christian revival meeting (they appear to be the
same thing these days), Floyd Brown, founder of
The Western Journal, boldly
declared that right-wing Christians must “Take back America!”
There’s nothing new about that kind of rhetoric, right?
However, Brown took it a step further by telling his frothing congregation that
every church should literally take over their town. Yes, every church force its
way into power and run its own town.
I must have missed the part where Jesus instructed his followers to take over
the world through literal conquest. I thought I’d read the Bible from cover to
cover, but I guess I skipped over the verse that says, “Go into all the world
and force your way into power so that you can make people believe what you
believe, and force them to act how you want them to act.”
Now, I stand corrected. It seems that, regretfully, all these years, I have
believed a false Gospel. My bad.
Now I know better."
