"Without getting too deep into controversy, you know and I know that we are
living in dangerous times.

Even law-abiding ordinary people can get into serious trouble, especially
foreigners traveling to the United States.

Marginalized people and political activists are the most at risk, but everyone
and anyone who isn't an oligarch or billionaire could be targeted.

There's no need to be scared, but it's important to be cautious.

Be cautious about the data on your phone, the data on your PC, and the data you
put out on the internet.

This book will feature expert advice from myself, other cybersecurity experts,
lawyers, and activists about how to lawfully protect your safety and privacy in
trying times.

I cannot guarantee you'll always be safe if you follow the lawful advice in
this book. But you can greatly improve your security and greatly reduce the
likelihood of your digital data getting you into trouble."
