"While elephants are very social animals, it still takes them time to get used
to a new herd – as this adorable clip from Apple TV's
Born to be Wild
highlights.
The series focuses on six endangered baby animals that have been orphaned or
abandoned, or raised as part of breeding programmes, as well as the
extraordinary humans dedicated to their eventual release back into the wild.
Episode two focuses on Wam, a young elephant in Zambia's Lusaka Elephant
Nursery. The orphaned calf is under the watchful eye of Aaron Gumbo, deputy
head ranger at the nursery with 13 years of experience at Game Rangers
International.
But in order to bond with the herd and form a new family, he must overcome his
shyness first."
