"Same-sex marriage in Nepal has been provisionally recognised after an interim
ruling from the Nepal Supreme Court in 2023.
A group of nine activists sued over the South Asian country’s marriage laws
that limit marriage to between a man and a woman.
The court asked the government to establish a separate register of marriages
for couples from gender minority communities.
As of the beginning of this year, thirty-five same-sex marriages had been
documented by local LGBT rights organisations. Nine confirmed by local media."
