"Chinese environmental technology firm Zijin Longking has unveiled its latest
battery electric mining truck, a 350-tonne behemoth that the company proudly
boasts is the largest-tonnage battery electric mining truck in China – and so
likely the world.
Zijin Longking, a subsidiary of Chinese mining giant Zijin Mining Group,
unveiled the ZL230E last week after it rolled off the production line at the
Longking Smart Environmental Protection Industrial Park.
The ZL230E features a gross vehicle weight of 350 tonnes, empty weight of 120
tonnes, and a maximum payload of 230 tonnes, with a heaped body capacity of
125m³.
“It boasts comprehensive advantages such as low energy consumption, high
reliability, easy maintenance, and large transport capacity, fully meeting the
needs of long-distance transportation, heavy-load climbing, and continuous
operation under complex conditions in large mines,” said Huang Wei, president
of Zijin Longking.
“This effectively improves mine transportation efficiency, reduces operating
costs, and provides strong equipment support for the construction of green
mines.”
A pair of 800 kilowatt (kW) motors power the truck, backed by what Zijin
Longking describes in their press release as “a large-capacity, long-life
superchargeable battery system” that is capable of rapid charging to 90 per
cent in only 25 minutes."
